Daltons Demolitions were appointed by AKP to undertake the controlled soft-strip and internal down takings of a three-storey commercial property, following the vacation of the former tenant, Sainsbury’s Bank.

The facility comprised approximately 10,000m² (GFA) of open-plan office accommodation across three levels. Works involved a full internal strip-out, returning the building to its shell condition in preparation for refurbishment and redevelopment.

Comprehensive pre-demolition planning and proactive stakeholder engagement were key to the project’s success. Daltons worked in close collaboration with the client’s representatives and on-site health and safety teams to ensure the safe and efficient removal of all redundant mechanical and electrical (M&E) installations, floor coverings, partitions, and plant.

The works were carried out in a methodical, bay-by-bay, top-down sequence to maintain full structural stability throughout. Over 400 tonnes of material were removed, segregated, and processed for recycling, in line with Daltons’ environmental management commitments.

The project was completed safely, on programme, and within budget – with zero incidents recorded.
