Daltons Demolitions were appointed by Morrisons Constructuion to undertake the Phase 2 Demolition of the former school buildings, following the completion of construction of the New Earlston Community Campus.

The facility comprised a mix of 1 to 3 storey reinforced concrete structures situated in close proximity to the New Earlston Community Campus and the Leader Valley School. Constant dust and vibration monitoring was maintained to ensure minimal disruption to the two schools and neighbouring residential properties.

Comprehensive pre-demolition planning and proactive stakeholder engagement were key to the project’s success.

The works were carried out in a methodical, bay-by-bay, top-down sequence to maintain full structural stability throughout. Over 3000 tonnes of material were removed, segregated, and processed for recycling, in line with Daltons’ environmental management commitments.

The project was completed safely, on programme, and within budget – with zero incidents recorded.
